New figures published by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) show that MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) and Clostridium difficile rates have fallen at hospitals in Chorley and Preston. The latest quarterly figures revealed yesterday for Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust show that Clostridium difficile cases have dropped by over 50 per cent on the previous three months' at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital and Royal Preston Hospital.
