Paramedic faces 2nd police probe - Liverpool Echo 25th November 2008

A MERSEYSIDE paramedic was suspended amid allegations he “assaulted” a young mum.

Tyrone Fitzgerald, 34, is being investigated by police following the alleged attack at the woman’s Warrington home.

It is alleged the ambulance worker returned to the house when off-duty after being called previously to see her young child.

Stopping attacks on NHS workers - Carlisle News & Star 21st November 2008

VIOLENCE and aggression against ambulance staff nationally costs the NHS £69 million each year.

In 2007-2008 there were 234 reported assaults on staff employed by the North West Ambulance Service which covers Cumbria.

To combat this, a new Stop Abuse campaign has been launched to show the public that attacks on ambulance staff will not be tolerated.
