Transplant patient has NEW kidney removed after NHS computer blunder - Daily Mail 19th January 2008

A kidney transplant patient was forced to have the new organ removed after just a few hours – when it was discovered that the patient's blood type had been incorrectly recorded on a computer database. The mistake, believed to be the first of its kind in Britain, would have led to the organ being rejected – with possibly fatal consequences.
