LEIGHTON Hospital’s £2.7 million state-of-the-art Macmillan Cancer Unit opens its doors to the public next week. The unit was funded by a £1m cash injection from Macmillan and an appeal, backed by the Chronicle and its readers and BBC Radio Stoke, which raised a further £1.135 million.
