Inspector criticises social services - Lancashire Telegraph 30th November 2007

BLACKBURN with Darwen's social services chiefs have "taken their eye off the ball", a government inspector has said. He was speaking after the council's annual rating for adult social care dropped to two stars following its latest inspection, down from three the previous year. Meanwhile the govern-ment's Commission for Social Care Inspection awarded Lancashire County Council, the other local authority that provides adult social care in the area, the maximum three stars for the second year running.
