HOSPITALS in the region are cracking down on the so-called “compensation culture” blamed for swallowing up cash meant for patient care, new figures suggest.
The bill for clinical negligence pay-outs by hospitals across Merseyside and North Cheshire plunged by 28.8% last year – bucking the national trend.
