THE Royal Liverpool hospital is using new voice-activated technology to cut waiting lists. Most delays are caused by communication difficulties between the staff involved in preparing theatres and transporting patients. Working with the North Mersey Health Informatics Service, The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust is among a small number of trusts in the UK to trial Vocera, a new instant communications system.
