A gardener who chopped off his arm in a freak chainsaw accident calmly knocked on his neighbour's front door and told him: 'Please help, I've cut my arm off.' John Stirling, 59, was trimming a tree in his garden when he slipped and sliced off the limb. Shocked neighbour, Steve Francis, then tried to save the arm and hand by sticking them in a bag of frozen sausage rolls.
