Young people are suffering ten times more back pain than their parents did at the same age, according to a survey. It found the PlayStation generation is suffering from long hours spent hunched over PCs and computer games. Creaking knees and stooped shoulders are also affecting teenagers and young people, not just the elderly. Figures from the survey show painful knees are afflicting 63 per cent of under- 18s compared with only three per cent of 55-year-olds who had knee problems in their youth, while hip pain has increased fifty-fold over one generation.
