The pharmaceutical sector will see £500m knocked off its income from the Government under the terms of a revised Pharmaceutical Price Regulation Scheme (PPRS). The industry and the Department of Health yesterday announced that they had agreed a 5pc price cut on drugs sold to the NHS, and a further 2pc fall if the health service's £11bn drug bill rises by more than 6.7pc per year.
