HUNDREDS of thousands of pounds is to be spent in Pendle to tackle health inequalities in the borough. The funding will help to address some of Pendle's health priorities including reducing infant mortality, coronary heart disease, alcohol misuse, drug abuse, geographical inequalities, suicide prevention and fuel poverty. Pendle Council has been allocated a total of £330,000 to spend on improving health as part of its commitment to reduce health inequalities and save one million years of life by 2011.
