Thousands of patients at risk of going blind will be given drugs to help preserve their sight after a U-turn on prescribing guidelines. The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (Nice) had ruled that people had to lose sight in one eye before receiving Lucentis but the decision has been reversed after a public outcry.
