SERVICES at two hospitals could be axed in a cash crisis. Southport and Ormskirk NHS trust has to save £8m by April 2009 and admitted today the target could result in permanent closures. The saving demand is on top of a £4m cut required by government figures which led to the trust announcing last month it would be losing 28 beds.
