Summer is months off but already many of the 16 million Britons who suffer from hayfever will be experiencing symptoms such as sneezing, itchy eyes and a runny nose. "The hay fever season has already started, and for some sufferers, the 25 per cent who are allergic to birch pollen, symptoms may be worse than ever this season", explains the country's top hay fever expert, Professor Jean Emberlin from the National Pollen & Aerobiology Research Unit at the University of Worcester.
