'Traffic light' food warnings for supermarkets - The Telegraph 25th March 2008

Supermarkets could be forced to place "traffic light" health warnings on food packaging as part of an aggressive anti-obesity drive by ministers. A deal to make the system mandatory is being forged between the Department of Health, the Food Standards Agency and the EU, which has overall control of food labelling issues. The move will anger Tesco, Britain's biggest supermarket chain, which has pioneered a different system used by more than 50 companies.
