Passing out rugby players 40-minute wait for an ambulance - Liverpool Daily Post 4th March 2008

A TEENAGE rugby player waited nearly an hour for an ambulance after passing out three times on the pitch. Desperate club officials eventually had to call fire crews to give emergency first aid after waiting in vain for paramedics. Crews from Speke and Croxteth arrived at the Liverpool Collegiate ground in Aigburth, and gave the 16- year-old gas and air by the side of the pitch.
