The introduction of 24-hour drinking laws has been a catastrophic "mistake" which has turned Britain's town centres into no-go areas during the evening for everyone except young drunks, council leaders say today. A man suffering the effects of too much alcohol 'sleeps' on a bench The controversial reforms have failed to introduce a continental café-style culture to Britain's streets and have instead simply fuelled increased levels of late-night drunken violence.
