SEFTON’S health chiefs have admitted Southport’s children’s services need at least £100k of improvement. They have vowed to help the situation by ploughing money into the town, but dismiss any possibility of children’s emergency services returning. Campaigners claim between 600 and 700 children from Southport and Formby have to travel to Ormskirk Hospital’s accident & emergency every month.
