HEART attack victims and other patients in the rural area could die before paramedics arrive if a back-up service is down-graded. That’s the fear of First Responder volunteers who believe their life-saving powers will be stripped because North West Ambulance Service is standardising its service following a merger of the local trust with Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria.
