EIGHT parents in Cumbria were ordered to take lessons in bringing up their children after letting them get away with truancy or bad behaviour last year. According to figures released by Children’s minister Beverley Hughes there were 18 orders slapped on families across Cumbria by courts in the last three years. Eight were handed out in 2006/07. Only Liverpool, Lancashire and Salford handed out more orders than Cumbria in the north west with many areas imposing no orders.
