Carpets are to be ripped up from hospital outpatient areas and toilets and bathrooms will be upgraded in a major offensive on infection control at Chorley and Royal Preston hospitals. Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the two hospitals, will invest almost £1million to improve toilet and bathroom facilities on wards, rollout new ward curtains, replace chairs and furnishings in general waiting areas and install new bedpan disposal units.
