The Government's recent wheeze for cutting health service costs by getting people to treat their own ailments is in line with the current trend in general practice of seeing as few patients as possible. After freeing themselves from the burden of being on call, family doctors have now turned their attention to ensuring that their surgeries become patient-free zones.
