OUT-of-hours GP cover in Bolton switches to NHS control on Monday with a promise of improved service for patients. But the privately run organisation which has controlled the service for three years and whose contract has expired, claims the new system will not be as effective. Emergency GP callouts will transfer from the CMEDS doctors' group, based at Landmark House, back to Bolton Primary Care Trust.
