UK hospitals among worst in Europe for MRSA - The Sunday Telegraph 25th November 2007

In a league table of 28 countries, only Portugal, Malta and Ireland fare worse for rates of the superbug, which kills more than 1,600 Britons a year. Figures from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) show British rates of MRSA are 60 times higher than countries in Northern Europe which adopt aggressive "search and destroy" policies.
