PATIENTS across Lancashire will be banned from smoking inside mental health units from April 1 next year. Health bosses will tighten a little-known loophole in six months time which allows adults, using at a designated room in a residential mental health unit, to smoke indoors. At present it is unclear how mental health patients who are smokers will be accommodated.
