Hospital care plunged back into dark ages - Lancashire Telegraph 5th November 2007

HOSPITAL services in the Burnley area are now being plunged back to the dark ages following the implementation of the rather amusingly named Meeting Patient Needs' policy of the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. These changes have nothing to do with improving hospital services in Burnley and everything to do with saving the trust money, in order to pay for the crippling interest charges accrued by the building of the new Blackburn hospital under PFI.
