Hospital bug rate remains steady - Lancashire Telegraph 2nd November 2007

HOSPITAL-acquired infection rates have remained steady across East Lancashire, according to new figures. The Health Protection Agency has released its quarterly study of all the country's hospital trusts. It showed that East Lancashire hospitals had seen 110 cases of C. Difficile in elderly patients - two fewer than in the previous quarter - and 21 in those aged two to 64, in the three months from April to June this year.
