Two surveys suggest that healthy UK workers take time off ill while the sick come to work Mark Hunter A bizarre picture of the UK’s attitude to health at work has emerged from two surveys published last month. In the first, fish4jobs, a recruitment website, found that four employees out of five admitted taking regular sickies: faking illness to gain time off work. In the second, by the CMI, more than 80 per cent said that they would not take time off for common ailments such as a cold, back pain or stress.
