Wayne Rooney may have had the sporting edge as a schoolboy because of his birthdate, scientists claim. New findings from the Children of the 90s project, based at Bristol University, claim youngsters born in autumn - such as the England footballer - are more active than those born in spring. The study, which has been following the health and development of 14,000 children born in 1991 and 1992, examined their activity levels at 11. Children born in spring were the least active, moving about nine per cent less, a paper published in the British Medical Journal revealed.
