Food price inflation is dropping sharply, bringing relief to millions of consumers. Falls in the price of oil and crops such as wheat, potatoes and other vegetables are feeding through to shopping bills. Figures from the British Retail Consortium show annual food price inflation came down from 9.1 per cent in September to 7.5 per cent last month.
