If you spend more than six hours a day on the internet, then apparently China reckons that makes you an addict. They’re reported to be the first country in the world that’s going to “officially recognise internet addiction as a clinical disease”. That means, presumably, that half the developed world – or at least anyone with a desk job – is an internet addict, and therefore prone to “irritation, difficulty in concentration or sleeping, mental or physical distress and a yearning to get back online”.
