An Egremont man hanged himself in a hospital toilet with his shoelace, an inquest heard. Martin Herbert, 45, of Dent View, died at Yewdale ward of the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven on September 5, 2006 after tying the lace from his trainers around his neck and tying the other end to a window catch.
