City planning chiefs have given the go-ahead for a new £9million mental health secure unit at Whittingham. Plans by Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust for the 30-bed low secure unit adjoining the medium secure unit at Guild Lodge were given the green light at a Preston City Council planning committee on Monday.
