Death-rate shame of hospitals revealed - Manchester Evening News 21st November 2008

SIX out of the 10 Greater Manchester hospital trusts have some of the highest death rates in the country, figures reveal.

According to an independent report, death rates are ’significantly higher than expected’ at the Central Manchester and Manchester Children’s Hospitals Trust, Royal Bolton, Stepping Hill, Tameside General, Wigan Infirmary, and Pennine Acute which runs hospitals in Bury, Oldham, North Manchester and Rochdale.
