Parents who smoke around their children while at home or in the car may leave them with symptoms of nicotine addiction, researchers say. Symptoms of nicotine dependence, including depressed mood, trouble sleeping, irritability and anxiety, were reported by 5 per cent of the children exposed to second-hand smoke, even though they had never smoked.
