The London 2012 chief, Paul Deighton, today defended the event’s £20m-plus sponsorship deal with Cadbury, as the confectionery maker pledged to market its Olympic association to children responsibly. Cadbury was today officially confirmed as a “tier two” supporter, a level that costs sponsors between £20m and £40m, to be the sole supplier of chocolate and ice cream at the London 2012 Olympics.
