But we could start by treating sufferers with the sympathy and respect they deserve. I want to talk about dementia – an incurable and terminal condition. The author Terry Pratchett, who is himself suffering from Alzheimer’s, a form of dementia, is doing just that. He is heading up a campaign by the Alzheimer’s Society to tackle the stigma associated with the illness.
