Snacking on pistachio nuts twice a day can lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease, according to new research. Researchers at Pennsylvania State University compared cholesterol levels of three groups - volunteers who snacked on the nuts twice a day, those who ate them once a day, and those who had none. All three followed a healthy low-fat diet.
