MANCHESTER University has launched an investigation into whether radiation from lab experiments a century ago may have caused the deaths of two lecturers and endangered hundreds of students. The university said it took seriously a confidential report suggesting that staff and students were exposed to gamma rays in its Rutherford Building over more than 50 years.
