BOSSES at Velocity Healthcare vowed to fight on after their plans for a secure psychiatric unit in Widnes were thrown out by planning chiefs. At a meeting held at Runcorn Town Hall on Monday, the council’s development control committee rejected three applications from the firm – a subsidiary of original builders Montpellier – to establish either a low or a low-medium secure mental unit at Bennett’s Lane.
