FAMILY doctors in Cumbria have been awarded a £6m cash boost to invest in better patient care. Local GPs will decide how to spend the funding from NHS Cumbria in order to provide health services closer to home. Improvements could include new health equipment, extending the range of services available in surgeries, more joined-up health and social care services or staff education and training.
