Cumbrians are more likely to die from cancer – shock report - Carlisle News & Star 8th September 2008

Cumbria is among the most deprived areas of the country where cancer survival rates are at the lowest. New figures show people in the county have less chance of being alive five years after diagnosis than those living in more affluent areas. The study, just published by the Office for National Statistics, analysed survival rates of people in England diagnosed with different types of cancer between 1998 and 2003.
