A KIDNEY cancer sufferer from Southport says the potential withdrawal of a drug in Merseyside is a “death sentence” for many people with the disease. New preliminary guidelines from the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) says the drug Sutent (Suntinib) is not cost-effective, and Merseyside PCTs which currently offer it will be reviewing their policies.
