TALKS on the future of children’s health services in Southport will reconvene “as soon as possible”, Sefton PCT has pledged. Leigh Griffin, the NHS body’s chief executive, said efforts are underway to set a date for the third in a series of ‘stakeholder’ meetings. The last gathering in February saw PCT representatives re-state their belief that returning children’s A&E to the resort would not be clinically safe, appropriate or sustainable.
