Would more young women go back into education if they could take their babies with them? Janet Murray reports Nicole Bray was 14 and six months along when she found out she was pregnant. She left school after being bullied, and never returned. After the birth, she wanted to go back, but was reluctant to leave her baby in day care. When her daughter was three months old, her social worker told her about a project at her local college that enabled young mothers to study alongside their children. Two years on, she is about to start an access course and hopes to follow a career in midwifery or teaching.
