Letter: Unjust to the unborn - The Guardian 19th May 2008

Many readers will wonder what has happened to our priorities as a society, having read that, in London, Médecins du Monde UK frequently sees pregnant women, some worryingly in the later stages of pregnancy, who have been unable to access maternity care (The tourist trap, Society, May 14). This situation puts mothers and their unborn children at risk and is a direct result of the 2004 NHS overseas visitors charging regulations.
