Head injury victim defies the odds - BBC Health News 18th May 2008

Alfie Russell was 10 when he was knocked off his bike by a car. Doctors and his parents feared Alfie, who had suffered serious head injuries, would die. His mother, Jane, was told that even if he survived he was unlikely to walk again, to speak or hear.
