Campaigners warned against premature celebration today over reports that a new drug designed to eradicate hospital superbugs had put a cure within sight. Derek Butler, the chairman of the campaign group MRSA Action, cautiously welcomed the development of a drug that is claimed to destroy the five most common strains of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA), but said further testing was needed.
