A GRANDMOTHER who is dying of cancer has lost an appeal for a drug which could prolong her life - but will take her case to the High Court. Jean Murphy, 62, has kidney cancer and doctors say the only treatment which could help her is controversial drug Sutent, which is routinely available in Cheshire and Liverpool but rarely prescribed on the NHS in Greater Manchester. Thousands of people signed a petition asking Salford Primary Care Trust to change their minds.
