Government's bird flu drugs strategy is 'flawed' - The Telegraph 15th May 2008

The Government's strategy to defend the nation against a bird flu pandemic has been called into question. The Department of Health has built up millions of doses of Tamiflu, an antiviral drug, in preparation for a pandemic of the kind that killed 50 million people in 1918. However, a team at the Medical Research Council's National Institute for Medical Research in London warned that a mutation in the H5N1 strain of the virus could make it resistant to the vaccine.
